4 D ACRES - Quality emu products from locally raised emus
4 D ACRES is nestled in the rolling hills of eastern Kansas. We raise the emu without the use of medication or growth hormones. Their diet is supplemented with good wholesome grains that are grown locally. In addition to the emu, we also raise free range chickens which are sold from the farm as well as at farmers markets throughout the summer in the Kansas City metro area.

History
We decided to move from the suburbs to the country in the summer of 1993. We started out with the basic animals - chickens, cats, and dogs. From there we expanded to cattle and sheep. In seeing that we did not own enough land to be sustainable we sold all but the chickens, then in May of 1996, we acquired 8 Emu chicks.
Farm Tour
Once a year, the second weekend of May, we are open to the public for a tour of the farm. During this time we welcome people to visit the farm to meet not only Blue, our mascot, but also Barney our pet as pictured here with Dee.
In addition to these fine birds we also have a llama named Sambo (protection for the baby chicks) and a few pigmy goats (weed control).
Emu oil, emu oil skin care products, low fat emu meat and free range chickens are available for purchase, so bring your cooler. Brochures with maps are available upon request about the first week of April prior to the tour, please call or e-mail if you would like one mailed to you.
